A juvenile from the Netherlands has reportedly burnt through enormous amounts of Euros in a gambling spree, impelling a lawsuit against the gaming operator that didn’t halt the activity. The seventeen-year-old gambler reportedly dissipated a staggering €500,000 in total. Among this, €162,000 was speculated with Bingoal alone. In addition to this operator, the juvenile tested his luck with a whopping 17 other betting service providers. Torching approximately €17,500, he eventually increased the stakes, paving his way to gamble €30,000 on a weekly basis.
As per the account, this minor made use of his father’s credentials to gain access to his grandfather’s account which was under his father’s supervision. The shrewd youngster even went ahead to send Bingoal a copy of his father’s passport for authentication, underlining his deceptive tactics.
The young gambler went on a money-losing spree while Bingoal failed to pick up the glaring irregularities that should have ignited suspicion.
Demand for the Return of the Misused Funds from the Grandfather
The grandfather of this juvenile gambler is now legally pursuing Bingoal. As per his belief, his financial loss could’ve been avoided if Bingoal had strictly adhered to the Netherlands’ ongoing safer gambling regulations.
The sentiments of the grandfather resonate with the statements of his legal representative, who emphasized Bingoal’s gross neglect of its social responsibility. He stressed that betting service providers must freeze accounts suspected of risky high-stakes gambling and fraudulent activity.
The lawyer of the complainant insisted that Bingoal should have promptly communicated with the player to discuss the hazardous gambling patterns. The situation should have immediately been reported to the Kansspelautoriteit, the body responsible for regulating gambling in the Netherlands.
The lawsuit contends that all blame for the huge monetary loss rests on Bingoal, consequently demanding the return of the squandered funds to the grandfather.
Efforts by The KSA To Maintain Integrity in the Gambling Industry
On the topic of the Kansspelautoriteit, the entity recently emphasized its aims for 2024, aligned with the four-year plan chalked out for the gambling sector from 2020 to 2024.
