PGA of America has officially joined the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) public service drive dubbed Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly. Accordingly, the PGA will endorse responsible gaming in anticipation of its imminent championship in Louisville.
For the record, the anticipated 2024 PGA Championship is slated for Valhalla Golf Club, with the event due to run from May 16 to May 19. The alliance between the PGA and AGA’s campaign signifies that the championship will feature responsible gaming, facilitated by co-branded content, educational resources, and strategic activations amplified via PGA of America’s digital and social networks.
Initiated in 2019, the Have A Game Plan venture emerged as the AGA embarked on a mission to instruct Americans on responsible betting practices. With key partnerships amongst major gaming corporations, sports associations, and media outlets, the campaign is positioned to echo a poignant message to American bettors.
Have A Game Plan counsels bettors to establish, and adhere to, a budget whilst maintaining social interaction in the gaming scene. It also emphasizes the importance of understanding the odds, and advocates betting purely via licensed, regulated platforms.
Jeff Price, the Chief Commercial Officer of PGA of America, imparted his thoughts on the association with AGA’s Have A Game Plan campaign. He iterated its alignment with his team’s principles to enable golf enthusiasts to be equipped with the necessary tools to gamble responsibly.
Embracing AGA’s Have A Game Plan campaign during this year’s PGA Championship and beyond forms a crucial element of our strategy in response to the growing interest in golf betting.
Jeff Price, CCO, PGA of America
Price went on to reference the collaboration with AGA’s campaign as preceding the 106th PGA Championship, which will be sponsored by ESPN BET.
Joe Maloney, the AGA’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications, also expressed his thoughts on the collaboration. He signified his anticipation of the partnership with PGA of America, defending the union as a means of amplifying the underlying principles of Have A Game Plan to golf devotees and US bettors.
We aim to penetrate the message deeply: define a budget, adhere to it, and wager sensibly.
Joe Maloney, SVP of strategic communications, AGA
In line with joining Have A Game Plan, PGA of America is now coexistent with a variety of league partners that contain MLB, NASCAR, NBA, PGA TOUR, NHL, and WNBA amongst others. Expanded information about the initiative can be found via its official website.
