Raimond Irimescu alleges he was brutally attacked and had goods taken from him valued at roughly $1 million after participating at the International Watch and Jewelry Guild exposition. Earlier this week, he launched a lawsuit against transport industry giant, Uber, the hotel, Tropicana Las Vegas, and various other implicated entities. This altercation traces back to October 19, 2021, when this distributor of watches attended the function, only to be set upon by robbers who inflicted injury upon him after the event.
As per a disclosure from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the claimant lodged legal proceedings in the District Court on Monday. Irimescu’s legal contestation is targeting Uber, an Uber driver, initials R.S., a subsidiary of Uber, Raiser LLC, several unidentified defendants, including the Tropicana Las Vegas. According to his litigation, Irimescu argues that the Las Vegas Strip hotel was incapable of guaranteeing his personal safety. Furthermore, Irimescu emphasises that the hotel casino fell short in implementing adequate security measures during the watch and jewelry show and so neglected to enforce necessary safety protocols.
Meanwhile, the lawsuit suggests that Raiser and Uber showed inadequacy in creating a secure setting for the affected person, a responsibility that was highlighted as theirs. On top of that, the two corporations allegedly failed to detect potential hazards, the lawsuit alleges. In conclusion, within the lawsuit claim, Irimescu indicated that Uber insufficiently vetted its drivers’ backgrounds and provided unsatisfactory driver preparation.
Irimescu Was Savagely Assaulted and Robbed
It seems the lawsuit ensued as a result of the alleged assault on Irimescu, back in October 2021. Having visited the International Watch and Jewelry Guild exposition, he requested an Uber for his ride. While still in the vehicle, two other vehicles, respectively a gray SUV and a white minivan, allegedly fully obstructed the Uber’s path.
Subsequently, it was reported that four masked individuals shattered the vehicle’s windows, where Irimescu was seated. These attackers inflicted severe injury on the victim, reportedly causing debilitating harm. They also forcibly took Irimescu’s backpack and two pieces of luggage. The lawsuit outlines that the personal accessories stolen from him were estimated to be worth $1 million. The suit notes that the resulting attack caused the watch dealer to cease work, thereby incurring financial losses and medical expenses.
