The recently inaugurated Osage Casino & Hotel positioned in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, turned into a crime scene following an fatal shooting. A would-be car robber was fatally shot while attempting to flee the location. As he tried to make his getaway, he began to drag a tribal officer ensnared in the vehicle, leading a pro-active spectator to intervene with deadly force.

Reports suggest that the incident unfolded early in the morning at around 5 am on Tuesday, when a tribal officer endeavored to remove the suspected thief from the automobile. However, instead of surrendering, the suspect chose to flee, tragically dragging the tribal police officer in tow.

It was at this juncture that the suspect was shot by an unidentified individual, the bullet proving fatal. Thankfully, the tribal officer who had been dragged along emerged from the ordeal without any injuries per the reports.

Initial stories refuted that the man who shot the suspect was a tribal officer. Local media sources have asserted that neither the implicated thief nor the shooter are known associates of the tribe.

No Disclosure Yet on the Identity of the Deceased

Latter reports have identified the deceased as a car thief who also had a rap sheet, including credit card theft. The local law enforcement, however, is yet to ascertain and publicly release the identity of the deceased.

The case is currently under the purview of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). However, OSBI has not yet stated whether the assailant is under arrest, nor if they will face any charges in connection with the incident.

The Osage Nation Police Department along with representatives from the Osage Casino & Hotel are duly cooperating and assisting in the ongoing investigation.

The Osage Casino & Hotel Bartlesville is a recently commissioned casino having only served the public for a few days. The establishment boasts an impressive range of 521 slot machines coupled with several gaming tables. Additionally, it also features a 102-room hotel, a restaurant, and event facilities, aiming to provide an all-encompassing entertainment platform for visitors.

Regrettably, the auto theft and shooting are not isolated criminal incidences to have happened at the casino. Local media previously reported a stabbing incident at the casino complex over the weekend. Meanwhile, the condition of the stabbing victim remains undisclosed.

While discussing these casino-related crimes, it’s prudent to note that a recent bar brawl in a Nevada casino led to a man getting apprehended and incarcerated for inflicting jaw injuries on a woman.
