A felon from Las Vegas, known as Corey Canton, is facing severe penalties on allegations of abducting a minor and forcibly turning her into a prostitute, using the threat of a firearm. The minor victim was able to break free and returned to her protective mother, giving a detailed description of her convict to law enforcement officers.
The corresponding official documents state that on December 1, a distress call from the minor’s mother allowed the police to initiate an investigation. The mother alleged that her young daughter had been caught in the snares of sexual exploitation. It appears that her daughter had absconded for unclear reasons; her family had been residing in a Las Vegas hotel at the time.
As the young girl strolled along the infamous Las Vegas Strip, she made the acquaintance of another underage female who proposed an opportunity to earn a “quick buck.” Unaware of the implications, the soon-to-be-trafficked girl agreed.
Minor Girl Swept up in Sexual Exploitation
The duo found themselves in the Days Inn Motel, meeting with Canton, who was involved romantically with the other girl, data from the report reveals. Canton manipulated the victim into sexual intercourse, subsequently blocking her exit by brandishing a firearm, it was alleged.
The pair were later led to the Luxor, where they were compensated $100 for sleeping with an unidentified man. It would seem Canton’s partner appropriated an additional $1,000 from the client’s trouser pockets.
November 29 witnessed Canton directing the two underage girls to offer sexual services along the Las Vegas Strip. This directive, according to law enforcement, involved setting rates between $100 and $300 men.
They reported back to the motel room the following morning, ingesting food, alcohol, and narcotics, before returning to the Strip.
The minor who had initially escaped from her family eventually broke away from the seedy motel room. Reunited with her mother, the two then reported their ordeal to the police, effectively launching an investigation.
Canton Subject to a Slew of Charges
Following a calculated police raid of Canton’s motel space, officers were able to locate the alleged firearm. It turns out that Canton already held the status of a convicted criminal and was legally barred from having a firearm in his possession. Canton was later apprehended in his residential property along the stretch of the 6100 block of Carmen Boulevard.
Currently, Canton is contending with a multitude of charges, encapsulating dual counts of child sex trafficking, assault with a potentially lethal weapon, dual counts of underage kidnapping, and possession of a firearm as a legally restricted individual.
As of present, Canton is held within the confines of a detention center, with a bail amount set at $25,000. He is due to be presented before the court this coming Monday.
