The World Poker Tour (WPT) in mid-March sent ripples across the global poker landscape when it unveiled its plans to make a significant imprint on the worldwide poker network.
The leading brand in internationally televised gaming and entertainment broadcasted its debut event – the WPT Macau festival. The festival is set to take place from June 18 to June 24 in the People’s Republic of China.
The WPT has now publicized the comprehensive lineup for the anticipated festival, which includes an array of 12 unique events. These events will feature buy-ins ranging from HK$5,000 (approximately $640) to a staggering HK$200,000 (approximately $25,540). Read on for further details you need to know.
Inaugural Events: SuperStack and Mini High Roller
Thanks to the collaboration between Allied Gaming & Entertainment and Wynn Macau, the festival is expected to boost Macau’s reputation as a prime tourist hotspot. It will simultaneously aid in reenergising the region’s gaming and hospitality industry.
The grand opening, scheduled for June 18, will take place at the Wynn Palace situated in Cotai. Featured events include a HK$8,000 (approx. $1,021) SuperStack event as well as a HK$50,000 (approx. $6,384) Mini High Roller.
The first-ever WPT series in Macau will continue its journey with a Superstack event on the subsequent day. Also, on the itinerary are a Super High Roller Day 1 with a HK$200,000 (approx. $25,538) buy-in, and the Single Hand Flips to Milestone Satellite costing HK$550 (roughly $70). There’s also the Milestone Mega Satellite to WTP Macau Championship with a buy-in of HK$5,600 (about $715).
The spirit of the festival continues into the third day with the WTP Macau Championship Event Day 1A which has a HK$40,000 (approx. $5,107) buy-in, alongside the Super High Roller Day 2 and the Milestone Satellite to WTP Macau Championship.
Additional Festival Highlights
The final three days of the festival will also feature several other exciting events. These include the Superstack Turbo with a HK$20,000 (about $2,553) buy-in and the High Roller Satellite with a HK$14,000 (around $1,787) buy-in on June 22. Attendees can also enjoy the Big Bounty Day 1 with an HK$11,000 (roughly $1,404) buy-in, and the High Roller Day 1 with an impressive HK$100,000 (approx. $12,768) buy-in set for June 23.
On the final day, the festival will host the High Roller Day 2, and the Megastack Single Day, and the Deepstack Turbo Closer, which costs HK$5,000 (around $638) to join.
This marks the third significant tour stop in the Asia-Pacific region for the WPT, following the successful launch of WPT Australia in 2022 and the debut of WPT Cambodia in January 2024.
